Odkurzona szuflada to tomik poezji, który miałem przyjemność zilustrować i zaprojektować. Pani Basia Rutkowska zwróciła się do mnie z zamiarem wydania wierszy swojego zmarłego męża. Autor, Dominik Rutkowski, był zasłużonym dla Szczecina altowiolistą i niezwykle cenionym pedagogiem. Pisał również wiersze i inne formy liryczne, potocznie mówiąc, do szuflady. Stąd też tytuł, który ogromnie mi się spodobał. Ten w sporej mierze rodzinny projekt pełen był ciepła i miłości, które wespół z szacunkiem i elegancją starałem się oddać w sferze wizualnej.
W środku znalazło się 10 ilustracji, a ostatecznie powstało 250 egzemplarzy tej książeczki, która swoją premierę miała przy okazji V Ogólnopolskiego Konkursu Altówkowego im. Dominika Rutkowskiego w Szczecinie. Odbył się on w dniach 24–26 listopada 2022, blisko 11 lat po śmierci patrona wydarzenia.
The Dusted Drawer is a volume of poetry I was priviliged to illustrate and design. Ms Basia Rutkowska approached me with the intention to publishing poems of her deceased husband. The author, Dominik Rutkowski, was a distinguished for Szczecin violist and highly valued teacher. He was also writing poems and other lyrical forms not for publication, as we say in Poland, "into the drawer". Hence the title that I liked a lot. This largely family project was full of warmth and love, which together with respect and elegance I tried to convey in the visual sphere.
Inside there are 10 illustrations and finally 250 copies of this little book were printed and was premiered on the occasion of 5th Dominik Rutkowski's National Viola Competition in Szczecin. It took place on 24–26 December 2022, nearly 11 years after the patron's death.
